Since he left his role as a respected indie producer and drummer, and threw himself into the alluring dark paths of the electronic club scene, things have only moved in an upward direction for HOLTOUG.

With several podcasts on the infamous Danish national radio show, UNGA BUNGA, live performances at the three best and biggest electronic festivals in his native Denmark; DISTORTION, STRØM and TRAILERPARK, the Copenhagen based producer and DJ no longer needs any introduction in his homeland.

Outside Denmark however, what little people know of HOLTOUG comes mainly from a string of successful bootlegs and most have still to experience the musical depth he put into his own productions as well as his live- and DJ sets.

With „Everybody“ as his first release on Connaisseur, HOLTOUG delivers a melodic and poppish Deep-House track both as an original and a dub version, featuring the haunting vocals by Danish singer Silas.

The release is rounded-up by the piano-driven deep-house cut „Ballad House“, which features clever tempo-changes and a driving atmosphere, as well as a touching laidback remix of „Everybody“ by Danish DJ and producer Rosa Lux as a vinyl exclusive.
Connaisseur is more than happy to welcome this promising artist to its roster.

Kollektiv Turmstrasse – Rebellion der Träumer Part 4

Release Date: 31st of Oktober (vinyl) / 12th of November (digital), 2012
Format : 12″ / Digital
Cat-No : cns054-6

We proudly present the 4th and last part of the Kollektiv Turmstrasse – Rebellion der Träumer Remixes. After reworks by Aril Brikha, Robag Wruhme and Jimpster, our Connaisseur protégés Of Norway and selected quality remixes from the competition we did with with Juno Download, we now present two further remixes by true purveyors of distinctive German electronic dance music: Sieg über die Sonne and Roman Flügel.

The last release by Sieg über die Sonne was in 2006. Since then, the band members Tobias Freund aka Tobias. and Dandy Jack had concentrated more on their solo projects and other artist constellations. We feel honoured that their remix for Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s Kontakt is their first life sight since years, and we hope more will follow in the future. Their remix is a strong grooving Techno-Pop track with smart sample work and catchy melodies – fitting perfectly to Kollektiv Turmstrasse.

On the flipside, nobody less than Roman Flügel has fulfilled this remix duties perfectly. A very unique interpretation, which is hard to describe. Somewhere between Electronica and a mental after party track. Tiny cute electronic sound fragments swirl around the long upbuilding and stoic marching arrangement like will-o’wisps. 100% Roman Flügel and 100% outstanding.

Of Norway’s ‘Libertine’ incl. Losoul Remix to be released mid of April

What is the definition of epic? We think it is Of Norway‘s newest track Libertine. A 12 and a half minute long Nu-Disco monster, mindblowing from beginning to end. Techno as it might have sounded had this genre already existed at Woodstock.

For Libertine, Preben Olram – a Norwegian multi musician and voice actor – joined the Of Norways and played live bass and percussions, as well as vocal percussions.

Libertine has been the closing track of Of Norway‘s live set for around half a year, always causing ovations, screaming people and goosebumpish hands-in-the-air-moments. Check the recording of their live-set in Moscow for example, on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biVmVApdh6A

After their winning release ‘Blott Ditt Eige Lam‘ on Silicone Soul‘s infamous Darkroom Dubs imprint, and their ambientish declaration of love ‘Song For Ava‘ on Connaisseur, which entered several chill-out charts, Libertine is the Oslo boys‘ next release in 2012.

We feel honoured that Offenbach deep house legend and Playhouse veteran Losoul did the remix treatment on the flipside. He did what he does best, loosening the outer flesh gently to get to the filet of the track. The result is a stripped down afterhourish deep house track with techy references and big balls. It is stunning how he transformed the original track‘s sweet melody into something crawling, almost spooky. Thanks Pete for this Killer!

Furthermore, cns048-6 features the next part of our Erich Proksch papercut artwork series.
